Sharon Lawson, 67, departed this life Friday, November 2, 2018 in Greenwood, Indiana with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior Lawson and Marie Jeffers Lawson as well as her sister, Karen Scott. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Amy Schoettle and husband Jason as well as three grandchildren, Grace, Peyton and Faith Schoettle. She is also survived by her sister, Sherry Ferguson and husband Rodney of Florence, Kentucky.
Sharon had a testimony that as a child she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and for many years she traveled and sang with her family in a gospel music group known as the Singing Lawson Family. Her music touched the hearts of many who knew her through the albums that were recorded, radio broadcasts and singing engagements. Even after the group left the road she enjoyed singing in church, reading her bible and spending time with her family. Sharon loved making quilts and blankets and was truly a joy to be around. Her warm, hospitable attitude and spirit won’t be forgotten by those who knew her or were around her for any length of time.
The family will receive friends and family for visitation at Indiana Funeral Care, 2433 East Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana, 46143 on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 1-2pm with a Memorial service following at 2pm.

Sharon was a very special person inside and out. She never complained about anything and when asked how she was she would say, “just fine” even if she was having a bad day. Our family loved Sharon and being around her from childhood. A spot in my heart will be empty from not being able to talk with her everyday. Love you Sharon and the inspiration you were to me throughout my life. Rest sweet lady.

Sharon had an amazing; strong singing voice that I`ve never forgotten and I`ll always remember. The Heavenly choir has gained another beautiful voice. Give my Mom & Dad a kiss for me. I`ll see you on the other side.

It’s so hard to believe that Sharon is gone! She was such an inspiration to me and I longed to sing like her…the voice of an angel!!! When I was a little girl and she had won singing competitions and sang at her High School Graduation, I longed to be like her. I loved her so much and will miss seeing her and hearing her sweet voice. I love you Amy and you are in my thoughts and prayers!! Donna Jeffers-Baker

Sharon was such a blessing to be around. We grew up together and I can still remember her laughing and saying Bless his/her heart. Just talked to her a few weeks ago and still the same sweet person. She never changed. I will miss her and Karen so much. They used to visit us in Tennessee and they loved the Smokies. Rest my friend and the best cousin ever.
